This can occur if an entry was filed in a different location in each database. You may find some entries are filed in unexpected locations. The import will proceed and the open database will contain the merged results.

Select 'Overwrite if newer' (4th option) and press OK.

Enter the master key of the 2.x database that you are importing into the 'Enter Master Key' dialog and press OK.

Add entries that have different UUIDs.

Older versions will be found in the entry's history. The current version of a merged entry will be the most recently edited version of the entry.

'Merge' entries that have the same UUID (the entry UUID is a unique ID assigned to each entry when it is created).

If that is your goal, the way to merge two databases of unknown provenance is to import one database into the other using the 'Overwrite if Newer' import method. Most users performing a 'merge' want to maximize the amount of merging of 'same' entries, while avoiding deletion of any entries. But only if you still have copies of the original databases. If the result of a merge is not satisfactory, you can try again using a different import method. I recommend strongly that you make a copy of each database before merging the databases. I consider that to be a fairly risky plan.) (Technically you can 'preview' the result, but you would need to remember not to save the result.
